Yesterday was beautiful

My alarm set off at 7am but I was still tired from work the day before, so I snoozed for about half an hour. Thinking that I had only an hour to get ready and that I’d be late to meet Boyf at the train station, I rushed to bathe, get dressed, and eat. But at 8.12am, hurr hurr, Boyf texted me, “Movie tonight will be at 710.. Sure don wanna drive to HDB?” We then decided that he’d take the car out and drive us to the HDB Hub. So, I stopped rushing and took my own sweet time to finish getting ready till he came over to pick me up with the new car :)

If you think that we went to HDB to get a flat, nope. (It’d have been sweet to do so, but sadly neither of us have income yet.) We both had a job interview for a position to do research in planning for flats for the aging society. I went up to the office first, since my interview was 20 minutes before his, and to my surprise, I saw about 7 of my sociology friends at the office also trying out for the spot. It was pleasant to see them again, having short catch-ups with what they’re doing during this school holiday. But hahaha, with so many of us there (more of my friends came in after my interview), it makes the chance of getting the job slim since only 6 or 7 will be recruited. Anyway, my interview was short and simple and while I do hope to get the job, I know I won’t be too upset if I don’t. After my interview, I waited for a bit till Boyf’s interview finished and we headed home.

We first went to my place for me to change out of my sort of formal wear to my dating clothes. Then we went to his place, where his mum fixed us lunch, his niece demanded (hehe!) attention, and he showed me how Assassin’s Creed is played. Amongst all that, Boyf’s boss called him and after updating him about stuff on his work, the boss teased Boyf about something silly that he did, something that has to do with a complaint of being tired. Hehehe :D Anyhoots, we spent about 4 hours at his place before we headed out to Suntec for our free movie. Free, ‘cause Boyf’ s dad’s company gave him 4 tickets to Men in Black 3 :)

We had a couple of hours to kill before the movie started and so we roamed about Carrefour. An aimless walk became one with a goal: Get a rice cooker for Mum since the 18-years-old one at home cooks shitty rice now. Hurr hurr. So yeah, we I scouted for the most appealing rice cooker and in doing that, we managed to burn the two hours. We met our friends, N and F at the arcade where both of them were playing shooting zombies game. Watching them being so excited while playing was epic, I swear! :D :D :D

At 7pm, we headed to the cinema and got our food with the food coupons that came along with the free movie tickets and hehehehehe, the workers accidentally gave us an extra box of nachos and we were oh-so-grateful for that. Men in Black 3 was surprisingly enjoyable, and I like how there was an unpredictable twist at the end, though I had trouble with understanding how all can be ceteris paribus considering that there were things that changed in the past. Heh.

After the movie, we met up with more of our friends, Y, R and L and we headed to Arab Street for snacks and drinks at Nabins. I was a lot more tired than I was when I woke up in the morning by then and so, for most of the time, I sat back and enjoyed listening to their conversations. Also, the mango juice that I shared with Boyf was a delight for the hot and humid night. R and L left at about 11pm and the rest of us continued chilling. Night turned into morning and the place started being annoying as Nabins and the cafe beside it started to have a battle of who’s speakers could churn out louder music. It got on our nerves and the five of us then left the place for a more peaceful one - Pasir Ris Park.

On the way to the park, I complained a little to my friends about the speed that Boyf drives at and haha, they were quite sweet to him, praising how a safe driver he is, though they commented that he could have speed up a lil bit more. Then, we tuned to M12 and that freaked my boyfriend though I think the current DJ sucks like crap compared to TG in story-telling ghost stories. Heh.

We reached the park at 1ish. My boy suddenly offered to piggyback me and he did that for a while till my legs got tired of clinging on to him tightly. Then, all of us walked around for a bit before we laid on the breakwater and looked up to the gorgeous sky which was filled with sparkling gems. We spent about an hour there, just soaking in one another’s company. It was sweet :)

2 o’clock came and it was time to go home. We sent F first, and then N, followed by Y. Then, Boyf drove me home and it was really gentlemanly of him to still send me off till my doorstep despite having the car, as he always does when he walks me home. I love him so much, and cheers to many more good days to come along our way :D

I should really stop procrastinating and start jotting down the wonderful things that are in my life. Hopefully, tomorrow after work, I’ll have the will to do so, haha ;P

A million and one thoughts are buzzing in my head as I reflect on all that’s been happening. I intended to spill those things here, but. Anyway, I like this song, it’s soothing. Have a good night, loves :)

‘Answer me,’ she said, touching his hand. ‘Say it: “I love you”, even if it isn’t true. I’ve never heard anyone say those words. I want to hear them. I want to hear you say them, Claude. Tell me…’

‘I love you,’ he said.

She pulled away from him with a weary, happy little laugh. That moment of piercing desire had passed; she felt a kind of shame combined with pleasure; she slowly lowered her beautiful eyes, moved away from the trembling arms that wished to clasp her to him and smiled.

‘No,’ she said, ‘what’s the point? I don’t love you…’

He walked away and left the room without looking at her.

Really? Number 7 (and 6, but I don’t have the luxury of a tub) is what I’d like to experiment with soon..

MALAM BARU NAK HUJAN, HMPFTH!

Sure it didn’t rain in the morning/afternoon, except for the short drizzle (hujan maha panas kinda drizzle!), but I’m secretly glad that the weather was appropriate for outdoor activities. (Minus point: I’ve just grown darker ‘cause of the damn hot sun, grr.) Just to fill in the gaps, I’m working temporarily as a belayer for this week and today, I had a nice full body work-out throughout the day simply by doing work. Hehe, it’s a wonderful feeling knowing that one’s body is toning up despite the aches. More details about the work when I’m less tired! For now, goodnight! :D
